Decima

Decima is inspired by the Roman goddess and one of the Three Fates, the divine sisters who spin, measure, and cut the threads of life. In mythology, Decima is the measurer—she decides the length of each mortal’s thread, holding the delicate balance of destiny in her grasp.

This piece visualizes the emotional weight of her role through my signature melting rainbow technique. Layers of vivid, flowing paint cascade like threads of fate from her head and hands, blending into the ether. Her face is hidden, symbolizing the anonymity and universality of fate—we all have threads, but none of us know how long or how tangled they are.

Through rich color and dynamic movement, I wanted to capture the beauty and chaos of life’s journey, and the quiet, mysterious power of the ones who shape it behind the veil.
