    Description

    This painting, titled "Salish Sea," holds a special place in my heart for it is an homage to the enchanting sea wolves that grace the shores of Vancouver Island. These remarkable creatures, known to form a tight-knit pack within the embrace of the ocean, have etched their presence as an emblem of the island's thriving wilderness.

     

    From the sea wolf to the marmot, these beings, inhabitants of Vancouver Island, are a testament to the precious diversity of our planet's wildlife. Among them, some stand on the precipice of endangerment, their existence hanging by the thinnest thread. It falls upon us, as inhabitants of this fragile orb we call Earth, to be the guardians of these majestic creatures. In my painting, I yearn to weave the tapestry of my homeland's narratives and illuminate the urgent need to protect its natural treasures. We must ensure that the generations yet to come will always have the privilege to stand in awe of these extraordinary animals, as I do through the strokes of my artistry.
